Superman That...!

The mastermind behind hip-hop anthems such as "Kiss Me Through The Phone" and "Turn My Swag On", DeAndre Cortez Way, or as he's more widely known, Soulja Boy is an icon of the early 2000s. Upon its initial release, his debut single "Crank That" sat at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for a grand total of seven weeks, earned a spot on Rolling Stone Magazine's year-end list in 2007, and from there became an instant classic. 

Stepping onto the scene in the era where social media was very much in it's infancy, platforms such as MySpace and YouTube were pivotal in Soulja Boy's ascension to the top. Noted for his, at the time, pioneering use of the internet as a vehicle for marketing, Soulja Boy's story is characterised by its grass-roots beginnings.
