Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra - El Nino: Nativity Rediscovered

A new take on what was already a fresh new perspective
Why see Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra - El Nino: Nativity Rediscovered?
a rework of a retelling
In a fresh adaptation curated by CSO conductor Christian Reif, John Adams' expansive Christmas work El Nino takes on a brand new, wholly more intimate dimension for chamber orchestra. Skillfully interlacing passages from the Bible with verses penned by Latin American poets, "El Nio" delves into the story of the Nativity through the eyes of Mary.
Premiered in 2001, Adams' opera-oratorio delves deeply into the concept of a "miracle" and seeks to understand its profound significance. This magnificent performance will feature the vocal talents of soprano Julia Bullock, contralto Jasmin White, countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo and baritone Davone Tines.
