A match made in the Midwest!
Get ready for a Midwest takeover this summer as these two titans of rock join together for the Windy Cities Tour! This joint headlining tour marks the first time the two Chicago-formed groups have played together, with Chicago trumpeter Lee Loughnane commenting: 'Chicago has never toured with Styx before, so it's going to be a lot of fun, we're looking forward to it.' So are we, Lee!
Chicago
One of the giants of American rock, Chicago, is still going strong after half a century! The self-proclaimed 'Rock & Roll band with horns' produced hit after hit in the '70s and '80s, including the iconic ballad 'If You Leave Me Now', as well as 'Baby, What A Big Surprise' and 'Old Days'.
Styx
Styx rose to prominence with their guitar-driven power pop, which was just as likely to produce a heart-wrenching ballad or a pile-driving foot stomper. Led by songwriting talents of Dennis De Young, Tommy Shaw, and James Young, the band racked up hit after hit, including Babe, Mr. Roboto, and Boat on the River. The band has broken up and reunited several times over the years, and while this most current incarnation may not feature De Young (who is currently touring as a solo artist) it's still unmistakably Styx.
