Why see Cincinnati Ballet - Carmina Burana?
Cincinnati Premiere
Carl Orff's 1930 Carmina Burana, a tone poem based on stories of Medieval revelry, bawdiness and satire is dynamically updated by Nicolo Fonte for this highly anticipated Cincinnati Ballet premiere featuring the May Festival Singers. Reaching out across the centuries, the incredible work paints an accessible picture of our ancestors as they loved, laughed, drank and danced in ways comfortingly similar to our own.
Following on, the company will also present a recital of George Balanchine's perennial favorite, Serenade. Set to Tchaikovsky's vibrant Serenade for Strings, it is a masterclass in romance and a wonderful way to end the evening.
