Program
Chasing Squirrel (Choreography Trey McIntyre/ Music Kronos Quartet
Outrageously vivid costumes and high-energy choreography contribute to this exuberant celebration that has thrilled audiences since it's 2004 premiere. Hailed as irresistible, Trey McIntyre's 22 minute piece is a riotously uplifting exploration of dance that will stay with you long after you leave the auditorium.
Classical Symphony (Yuri Possokhov/Segei Prokofiev)
Regional premiere: Possokhov's 2010 ballet takes us to the core of ballet, with organic movement married with unorthodox virtuosity, it's classical ballet, with a twist.
Feast of the Gods (Edwaard Liang/Ottorino Kespighi)
Regional premiere: Described as gorgeous by many sources, Feast of the Gods is a powerfully physical abstract ballet. Subtle and graceful movements create beautifully powerful patterns in this emotionally moving piece that utilizes modern choreography, but sparingly, for effect.
